We have an extensive catalogue of pears. Their shapes are almost always conical and their skin is smooth and green or yellow according to the variety and ripeness. The flesh is white and in some cases slightly yellowish. Depending on the point of ripening it may have a sweet or acidic taste, or both at the same time.
